Writer’s Confession…

Here’s the deal…truth be told…this writer has a keen love of Bon Jovi’s music. Now before you reach for that mouse to click, listen to the lyrics and the reason becomes apparent.

Richie Sambora, Jon Bongiovi, and their numerous collaborators write from the heart. The lyrics are universal and they have achieved what many writers long for – to link with their listeners. Whether it’s Tommy and Gina or Captain Crash – the writing’s dimension spans everyman (not only every woman).

Listen to the latest from the band – Lost Highways. Really listen. The album has a beginning, a middle, and an end. The story’s there waiting to be found. Music and lyrics delve into our human hurts, hurdles, and happiness. The key to this album rests in the listener identifying with and taking those emotions inward. “Everybody’s Broken” describes the human condition and serves as a reminder to us that we at some point life isn’t a party and we shouldn’t cast judgment on anyone at anytime. “It’s OK to b a little broken.”

There’s more, but I don’t want to sway you one way or the other. Just listen to the album very carefully. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Welcome to A Writer’s Sanctuary

You might be asking, “What is this?” “What’s it about?” “How did I get here?” Haha, the answer to the last question lies between you and your computer.

This blog celebrates the artist/writer, aka, the novelist, the songwriter, the grantwriter, the poet, and the preacher. All artists. All embrace life in the form of words. All who endure, either gratefully or painfully, the lifecycle of writing. The conception (the idea), the pre-natal care (the research & outline), the delivery (the first draft), the parenting (the careful editing so as not leave scars), and finally standing at the door as that final product leaves home. Thanks to the Internet the parent can check in to monitor the product’s progress. At the end of the day all writers are single, prolific parents. IMHO.

These pages offer to chronicle one writer’s life (me) in connection with others (you). Writer/artists sometimes live under the mistaken impression that they are rather remote, insulated types. Nothing could be further from the truth. Writer/artists are very connected people. They have to be in order to nurture their pre-natal work – connect with others to do the research, work with others to gather background, and check in with others to see how the world turns.

So, welcome to the journey. Welcome to A Writer’s Sanctuary.
